Thank you to all my friends...

No pics tonight... but I am sitting here thinking about what a huge tremendous project this was... I know we arent even really done, but none of this was possible without friends.  Friends we didnt realize we even really had.  There is not enough "thank you's" in the world to say out loud what we would like to express... but if you can imagine our whole family on top of a high mountain... yelling in unison" THANK YOU".. and the echoing you would hear... times it by ten... and then multiply by a thousand... thats what we feel.  I can sleep well knowing my kids are in a clean home... without smells, rot and petrified rats... (well maybe there are more of those, but we arent digging up floors to find out!)...

To everyone that has helped.. thank you... for the meals that showed up more than once, grandma arms, painting, cabinets, plumbing, shelves made, flooring, encouragement, shoulders to lean on, did I mention the painting?  demolition, trim work, window treatments, packing, entertaining the baby... did I mention the painting?  we painted ALOT!  Thank you!

We are planning a huge gathering in the spring... to express our thanks... and we hope to see you all there!

moving in...

I know things aren't completely done... but time is not on our side and we have been pushing really hard to get out of the rental and into "home"... therefore little time for  pictures or blogging.

The bathroom is still not done, and the kitchen isnt finished, but will be soon enough.... heres a few pics of the last week...

closet in and first coat of paint on... Little Russ Room

Shelves in above washer and dryer... more to be put in later and old cubby closed off for storage on the other side of the wall into the bathroom...
 carpet heading into master bedroom...

master cabinet makers at work... headed out to find something else...

Little girls room... still need to put in closet rod and window treatments, but as you can see in the next picture... she is napping quite contently...

Still her favorite bed... will she ever sleep in hers???

 hallway finished...
all carpet now in....turned out fantastic!

mobile countertop... although I think this is its "semi permanent" home...
Yeah!  no more inbetween houses!!!  I am SOOO happy!  More cookies please...

Well more to come later... I am wiped out and a big snow storm is headed in tonight... There was snow on the ground this morning when I had to run to the High School to p/u our oldest from a football game she went to in Corvallis... 4 am is not exactly my favorite time to be up and alive let alone driving in snow!  lol

Will try and take more pics as things progress... we plan on taking it easy tomorrow and let our backs heal from all the heavy stuff... this has been a long long two months... and more progress made in the last three weeks than many plan out in a year... moving two farms and renovating a house... wow.. no wonder we are beyond exhausted...
G-nite...

Rounding the corner

We are a week and half into this... I think...lol  but here are the latest pics of our adventure... I think we have rounded the corner and we can see light at the end of  the hallway!  :)  We have the main room left to carpet... but we seem to uncover another soft spot or run into technical issues with each project... but in a nutshell... here it all is...
I am beat so this is short and more pics than words... they can probably speak for themselves....

They just paint and paint and paint...

Why yes... it IS another soft spot!  lol

Here is the boss... she is always in the middle of everything... not always a good thing, but she will never forget this adventure!

finished floor....

and then getting more painting in...

Well in between sibling watching and baby sitting!

I think we have painted everything!  lol  We have gone through 10 gallons of Kilz... from ceiling to floors... all walls and then the house paint.  I think the hallway and bathroom need ceiling paint yet...  but I tell you... painters are worth their weight in gold!  We are all a bit rummy from the smell of Kilz...  but the bad smells are gone and the house looks great!  We have about a gal and half of Kilz... that makes 12 gallons... but need to do the living room floor and the bathroom... but its another story...

He is so not loving putting in carpet... it was a career he left 20 years ago... but here is ... putting in carpet in the little girls room... another great friend built the shelves for a makeshift pantry until he can build a "canning building"... for all my canning goods and gear...

new floor in the hallway... We are stalling on putting in the laminate until all the big stuff is in so we dont drop and ding up the new floors...

Yeah... I can do laundry!  Danny is still putting in shelves for us as we go.. and fiinishing closets and hanging rods... all after a long days work... We are so fortunate to have friends like these... we can never express just how much they all mean to us...

can I pleeeaaaasssseee have the pepsi?
Kitchen is going in... although Woody has ran into snags there as well... but I am super happy with everything he has done... the sink is now functional and he told me as he left that countertops will be placed on Monday... I really hope he rests tomorrow... he needs it...everyone comes over and works so hard.

the makeshift hang out room... love seat tv games and baby items... small fridge can go out soon... its been very useful up til today... now that the main fridge is in... yeah!  I can put the small one somewhere else...

More to come later... I am really tired and need to sleep... happy homesteading!

Painting

Well I forget what day we are into this... but we have made great strides.  We have more friends than we realize and they keep showing up helping with so many things.  Here are a pictures of the last few days.  Everything from tearing out wallpaper to painting to putting the cabinets in.  And some to play grandma and just hold the baby so she is content and out of the way...

Lil one has been dubbed the straw boss... just telling everyone what to do...:)

Yeahh... tear things up and not get into trouble!!!

They are gorgeous cabinets... I still cant believe the deal she got on them.  :)

So not all of our friends are "sane".. well neither am I come to think of it.  So when you start digging out the soft spots in the floor that need repaired you never quite know what to expect right?

I am not sure which country we told him that petrified rat is a delicacy...  but we stopped him!  lol  Poor little rat... at least he was warm in all that insulation.

Tomorrow we hope to get the floors done.  We ran into town to pick up carpet and linoleum and subflooring... now if only the rains let up for the weekend... we can partially move in I think!
