Foundation runners in...

I am so tired I cant even put into words how fatigued I am.  If this blog site would upload pictures faster than snail mail I would add more photos, Russ took over 200 yesterday!  But beings it wants to take forever to load... here is a few of the next phase...

I now only have two muscovys outside the coop yard.  Russ caught me clipping the wings on this boy to keep him flightless.  As you can see Rebel is right there making sure I was clipping just right.

The runners begin...

And so do the bubbles... :)

The holy porch making its way to the burn pile... A good place for it...

Two cement trucks were used... look at all the mud!!!!

Fillin them in...

Trenches for the power and phone...another one is to the right for the water...

Starting to look real out there!  Do you see the hazelnut bushes to the right??  Just remember them...

One of the muscovys still out... She is sleeping in the rabbitry where she hatched out these five babies... what is she thinking in November!

Remember those hazelnut bushes?  Well they were in the way... but they arent anymore....

Phase two complete...

Phase three will be leveling the ground and taking those bushes in the back to the left out... its pouring so I think we will see Curtis with his tractor tomorrow...

I'll update with the next phase as soon as it happens... :)
Until then... have a ducky day!  Put on  your webbed feet and paddle through!

Good Morning Monday!!!

Good Morning Monday!

So I haven't slept well in days.  Insomnia seems to have my number and I spent most of Sunday night and Monday morning fighting covers, tossing, turning, removing Lola's feet from my ribs, and just being miserable.  She finally awoke and I could see gray in the window blinds so I knew morning was here.  But it wasn't 'late' enough so I encouraged her to snuggle.

She refused!  And with closed eyes I thought... fine let her play... I am just going to lay here for 10 more minutes...  For the first time all night I stretched my aching body.  I sighed and told Russ who was now stirring as well... "I need to just stretch out and rest a little while longer and I'll get up and make coffee."  He reached over and snuggled in...

And the loud knock on the door sent us both reaching for the ceiling.... Good morning Monday!

Curtis had arrived with his CAT and was ready to work.  So Russ got up... and I slowly got my bearings about me and joined the world of the living.  Well sort of...

Here is today's progress:

Scraping away the mess.  Russ and I have the project of cleaning up the undermess of the old mobile, so if the rains let up tomorrow we will begin.

Did I mention its been raining?

Test hole and now mountain of dirt... :):)

My Lil helper.  I wish I could get in closer so you can see her Binky... Its two front teeth with a moustache... classic!  Our Son in Law bought it for her.. and is now her favorite... she asks for her 'face binky'.. lol

Russ wants a CAT now too... not sure why?  lol

Laying the lines for the runners.

We have their approval.  After careful inspection... they went back to the yard...

Russ was climbing the mountain of dirt to get this picture...  Kinda makes you realize how big its going to be...

All done... now we wait for the county to inspect the forms.  As soon as we have their approval... they will pour the concrete runners.  We are only putting up skirting right now to get things done with as minimal funds out of pocket...

I think they look great!  Inspection complete!  right???

Looking from the far fence line...

I couldn't help this one of Mr Cluck.  Isn't he just the most adorable banty!  I really need to find him another Mrs. Cluck or a new home... he wont go in the coop... and is so lonely... She was sitting on a clutch of eggs in the garden and I think either a coon or skunk got her... for days he would go to the gate and wait for her like he did all the time... and she would come to eat with him before returning to her nest... its just too sad!!!

Partial new driveway... will finish once everything else is done and the trailer is moved...

And so it took hours for blogger to upload these pictures... and I am beyond tired.... until next time... Happy Housing!

Phase 1 COMPLETE!

OLD MOBILE OUT

We are pretty much at our wits end and tired of 'camping' in the yard... so having progress today helped tremendously.  And just in time.  The rains have began and will not stop at all this next week.

We are told that beginning Monday, things will start happening at a very fast rate.   Forgive my skepticism, I will wait and see...

Ran by remote control... pretty awesome!

Locking and Loading...

And away she goes....

Going past they hay barn and rabbitry...

And out onto the main road...

One flagger...

Ready to be hooked up and hauled off....

Loading the remote control toy for big boyz!  Russ wants one.  I am not sure what he would use it for except to move our new house periodically just to 'play'.... but he sure like the remote control hauler...

Locked... Loaded... and GOODBYE!  :):):)

Our housing now...

Gotta love the great outdoors right???  And my makeshift kitchen below....

Isn't that what the tops of recycling cans are for?  And old wood boxes?  It was all good until the rains settled in... now I am going to have to get a table set up inside the shop... in the 2 ft I have left... its packed with all our worldly belongings... beds, dressers, washer and dryer... table and chairs... and of course... boxes!

Its just too much... this is how we found them in the travel trailer... too tired to even make it to their bunks last night...

As you can see we need some more space... so this is pretty exciting to get Phase One complete!

Next is what is left... and what we have to clean up so we can move on to phase 2.

No wonder it smelled so bad.  The previous owners let everything free range from their poultry to their swine to thier beloved goats... inside and outside that old mobile... I wish I could pass along the smell!  I am ever so happy to finally get this part of the property cleaned up.

And above is the deck that leads to nowhere... except the burn pile... :):):)  To end this rather long post... I have a question for those of you who may know.  I have meant to figure out what kind of
tree (s) we have up towards the front of the property and I just never timed it right.  Well today...  I found these...

This is the tree (s)... I thought we just had a conversation about some sort of pear... but my poor brain cant remember anything...  Someone should enlighten me as to what they are again...

I DID try to upload a video of them hauling it out, but it didn't load.... I am sure its operator error.. I will try again later.  We have spent the afternoon at friends getting laundry done and using their Internet...lol  Until next time...  Happy Homesteading...

Ready to Rock and Roll

So the blogging site is having issues... I am not real impressed... Russ and I have taken hundreds of pictures, and I have been able to upload these FEW!  THANKS BLOGGER!  ehem... in any account...

last week... taking out the last of the stuff around the mobile....

today... putting on wheels to roll away...
BELOW:  shifting to the left... wheels on... shifting to the right... wheels on... tongue out... CHECK!

My Miranda... so happy to have a new house coming.  You can see the excitement in her eyes!

Jacking it up.  You can see right to the right of the jack where it was jacked up previously.  And damaged.  ummm... makes me all the more thankful to have something else coming!

Tires... tires... tires...

Ready to go.. I will go take more of the clean up of this phase.  I had to go do laundry, so by the time I got back it was dark.   We are waiting on the call of when the truck should show up to haul it away... I'll keep you posted!
